Oxford University Powerlifting Club

The results are in for the 2010 GBPF University and College Powerlifting Championships.
OUPLC President Jake Yorke would like to say a huge thank you to all the lifters who came out for the weekend. There was some truly spectacular lifting.

The best lifter and team awards were as follows:

Best lifter, female, unequipped - Louise Watton
Best lifter, female, equipped - Lisa Jane Hicks
Best lifter, male, unequipped - Carlin Jones
Best lifter, male, equipped - Mark Gregory
Best team, unequipped - Oxford University
Best team, equipped - Middlesex University

A special mention must also go to Tom Martin, who set a world record deadlift in the 82.5kg junior category with a monster 350kg pull.

Well done to all competitors.

Jake would also like to thank those spectators who travelled to cheer on the lifters, the platform crew for excellent loading and spotting all weekend, the group on the table for keeping things going, Kidlington Weightlifting Club for their help in organizing and for providing a great venue, and the referees, who in some cases travelled a long way for the event.
